The History of Bonner Bridge

Since 1963 Bonner Bridge has been connecting the people and communities south of Bodie Island to the mainland. On March 8, 2016, Governor Pat McCrory announced the official groundbreaking of construction on a new Bonner Bridge. The new bridge will have a 100-year lifespan and will open to traffic within three years.

For this piece I had a chance to explore the Outer Banks History Center where I found negatives to digitize and print. The final piece is a combination of event coverage, staged prints and props, and images that I layered in order to achieve a 2.5D effect.

Video

Few stories cannot be told by harnessing the power of motion pictures to evoke emotion. From my day job to my sole proprietorship, video is my preferred medium.

The long-form narrative was my first love. Here you'll find some examples of my graduate coursework and copy I wrote as a senior writer at a marketing firm.

Photography

Getting a photograph to tell a story isn't simple; but as the (oldest) adage tells us, the payoff can be well worth the effort. I capture many landscapes and candid portraits.
